Greer Middle School Students Get Technologically Advanced
Greer, South Carolina — While many middle school students are still struggling with understanding basic computer applications the students at Greer Middle School are learning how to build computer software and computer games from The Bridge Inc.

The Bridge, a non-profit organization that teaches advanced computer skills to children and young adults is working with Greer Middle School to help students become comfortable and knowledgeable with advanced computer applications.

The class, open to students in grades 6th thru 8th will teach computer basics to include Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. The Bridge will also be providing instruction in applications that include JAVA, programming and web development.

“We are teaching these kids applications that they won’t see again until high school…some maybe college. It’s fast paced…and advanced,” explains Rickey Moore, The Bridge CEO.

The six week course will be held daily at Greer Middle and at the end of the course; students will be hallenged to create a computer program using the software applications that they have learned.
