The Bridge, an organization that provides advanced computer technology skills to children and young adults, is now accepting applications for its 2008 Edu-Tech Academy.

With the prevalence of computer technology in everyday life, it makes sense to teach students more than the basic applications of Excel, Powerpoint and Word.  Edu-Tech Academy goes beyond the basics to teach High School aged (grades 9-12) students advanced computer applications that include JAVA, programming and web development. Students will also learn the applications that are used to build popular computer games.

“Edu-Tech Academy is the first step to preparing a child for a career in computer technology. Applications that we will be teach are in essence, the same applications that students majoring in Computer Science will learn,” explains Rickey Moore, The Bridge Executive.

Edu-Tech Academy classes are Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. beginning June 23, 2008 on the Main Campus of Greenville Technical College.  For more information on program registration or to find out more about The Bridge call (864)335.8858 or visit www.thebridgetech.org.
